Release Notes for Oracle Data Provider for .NET Extension for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure NuGet Package

This NuGet package supports direct Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) integration with both managed ODP.NET and ODP.NET Core. Features include ODP.NET single sign-on with OCI and storing connection string configuration values securely from a centralized provider in OCI Object Storage and OCI Vault.

This document provides information that supplements the Oracle Data Provider for .NET (ODP.NET) documentation.

New Features

  • Centralized Configuration Providers – Cloud Vault and New Configuration Options In this release, ODP.NET adds several new centralized cloud configuration provider updates:
    • Cloud vault support for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Vault (OCI) to store secrets, such as passwords and wallets.
    • ODP.NET connection string, token location, wallet location can accept OCI URLs
    • Setting OracleConnection.RemoteConfigurationFiltering to false disallows local file access. They would only be accessible on a remote system, such as a cloud vault.
    • ODP.NET automatically incorporates cloud configuration and password updates by updating its local cache of these values without requiring custom polling code. Note: There have been some syntax changes to the provider URL and syntax. Please review the full ODP.NET documentation for more information.
