CodeEffects.Rule.Editor.dll - Version 6.0.8.3
The assembly CodeEffects.Rule.Editor.dll declares the main types of the Rule Editor component of Code Effects decision automation platform.
What's New in Version 6.0.8.3
This is a minor release of Code Effects 6.x that fixes a bug in loading stored rules. It is recommended for all customers whose rules use in-rule methods inside calculations.
Fixed: rules with an in-rule method inside a calculation could not be opened
A rule that uses an in-rule method as part of a calculation was reported as invalid when loaded into the Rule Editor, for example:
set Result to (480 - GetFixed())set Result to (480 - GetTotal(Day, 5))set Result to ((GetFixed() + 10) * 2)check if (480 - GetFixed()) is greater than Minutes
After Control.LoadRuleXml(), IsValid returned false and GetInvalidData() reported one of these messages on the method:
- "The next element must be a clause, a right parenthesis, or the end of a source section", when the method was the last part of the calculation
- "This element and the next one cannot be of the same type", when more of the calculation followed the method
The bug affected methods with and without parameters, in conditions and in actions, and rules in both the current and older rule XML formats. The same method used on its own, outside a calculation, loaded correctly, as did calculations made only of fields and numbers.
The Rule Engine was not affected and always evaluated these rules correctly. Only opening them in the Rule Editor failed.
What you need to do
Update the CodeEffects.Rule.Editor package. No changes to your rules, source objects or code are needed. Rules that failed to load before now open, validate and save normally.
What is Code Effects Decision Automation Platform?

It consists of two components:
-
A free web-based component that helps managing (creating, loading, updating, saving, and deleting) business rules.
No third-party client-side dependencies.
Supports all current web browsers on both desktop and mobile devices.
Supports modularity in all client-side frameworks such as React, Angular, Vue, etc.
Advanced features include:
- AI-agnostic decision automation and rule authoring
- Unique rules authoring interface that allows language-like rule creation
- Automatic rule validation
- Circular dependency prevention
- Reusable rules
- Rule templates
- Optional dynamic help
- Optional toolbar for small projects
- Fully customizable UI
- Support for multilingual UI
- ... and much more.
-
A high-performance business rules evaluation .NET component that uses a unique in-house lambda expression engine to evaluate any data against any business logic with unmatched speed and precision.
- Native VS business rule debugger and evaluation logging
- Thread-safe
- No third-party dependencies
- Supports all modern platforms and can be used in any project
