This preview version binds APIs that expected or produced reference parameters.   

While reference parameters were expected to go away at some point, Google continued to rely on them, and many applications continue to rely on them, so they are now bound.

This also introduces a convenient "Variable" class that should make it easier for users of Variables to work with them by providing access to the nodes that initialize, read and assign the variable.
